Chocolate Peak (11,682') - April 30, 2006

Joe Kelsey, our neighbor in Bishop, suggested snowshoeing up Chocolate Peak as an early-season warm up for Sierra peak bagging. We went on fishing season opening day (mainly because that was the first day the road to South Lake was open), which made for some amusement as we got to watch a large numbers of sportsmen trudge uphill carrying their fishing tackle and coolers full of cheap beer. The peak itself was quite nice and had a great view of the Inconsolables.
