Tyee Lakes to Lake George - September 2, 2006

On September 2, 2006, Robin and I hiked from the South Lake basin to the Lake Sabrina basin, via the Tyee Lakes Trail, which connects with the Lake George Trail and goes over Table Mountain. It was a pleasant and short dayhike, topping out at around 11,500'. The scenery was quite nice, and this was one of the first days in weeks where the clouds were worth looking at.

Lake George
This is Lake George from above the sandy slope to its south.
Mt Emerson and Mt Humphreys
From atop Table Mountain on the Tyee Lakes Trail, one gets a nice view of both Mount Emerson and Mount Humphreys.
Robin on the Trail

Upper Tyee Lake
This is one of the two upper Tyee Lakes. The other is in a cirque to the right of this photo.
Middle Tyee Lake
This is the third of five Tyee Lakes. The lower two had fishermen all over them, but no one seemed to want to lug their gear all the way up here. Heck, it's only at 10,900'!
Lake Sabrina from the Lake George Trail
Lake Sabrina was just coming into view here on our way down the Lake George Trail. For as popular as Lake Sabrina usually is with fishermen, we only saw two boats that day. Strange.
Reflections on Lake George
The Lake George Trail winds along the shore of Lake George, providing for some nice views.
Snowmelt Pool Near Lake George
Snowmelt filled various small pools near Lake George with exceptionally clear water.
The Inconsolable Range
There was a stellar view of the Inconsolable Range from near the top of the trail. The large mountain on the left (second from the left actually) is Cloudripper which we had climbed the week prior.
